Things I Know
I know that the sky is blue and that the temperature outside is 73 degrees.
I know that the damn squirrel keeps eating the bird food out of the feeder no matter how many times I chase him away.
I know that I like having Mondays off.
I know that May really is the best month.
I know that the washer just finished and I have to put the laundry in the dryer.
I know that fermented vegetables are really good for you — and really delicious.
I know that the guy who visits his mother in the building next door is really quite attractive.
I know that there’s more to life than working an office job, but I can’t seem to escape.
I know that the leaves on the tree in the middle of the street are casting a modern-design show in the road.
I know that if I make tea right now that it will keep me up half the night.
I know that I’m having another hot-flash and I wonder when it will ever end.
I know that I need to finish this poem and write four more today.
